Just finished this up and gave it a patina. I bought this as rhodonite and I believe it is, but doesn't this kind of material have another name like- royal rhodonite or imperial or something? It's wasn't real cheap. It didn't take a high gloss polish. The guy who cut it does great finishes so I am assuming it was the stone. It seems to be pretty hard and at the edges where it is thin, you can see light through it (and the raspberry color). Maybe it is called raspberry rhodonite? EDIT OK, everyone--- I just looked over my notes and realized this is actually a rare, gemmy Norwegian Thulite. Doh! I feel stupid...

Thank you This is one of those started out much differently. I was almost going to scrap it, then tried o n e m o r e thing to save it and it worked. Funny how many pieces are like that- start one way and and up another LOL!
