Well here are the first cabs from my recently completed homebuilt cab machine. an agate I bought but can't remember what it is for sure, a laguna I think: : this one is a Tee Pee canyon agate from the Black Hills of South Dakota : : another Tee Pee canyon agate; : it was hard to get a decent shot of them as I was getting so much glare. Thanks for looking

Glare? Yeah... that's a bummer... LOL! I absolutely LOVE these! I have just recently been toying around with TeePee's and DryHead's and it is some of the most amazing material I have ever had the pleasure of working with. These are beautiful!!!
Can we see your new homebuilt setup? (or if you already posted it and I missed it, then could you link it here?)

actually Tee Pee canyon is an older dig site. I am not sure that there is any mining there anymore. I have a drawer of slabs some are cool and some are OK and some are duds

Have been to Teepee canyon, and you can't just walk around and pick it up. It is a nodule that that is embedded in limestone bluffs and it is way down in the canyon. There was a forest fire there a few years ago and it is bugger getting around all the downed trees. Here is a pic looking down from where you start walking. A much longer way coming back up. Here is one of the bluff walss the the nodules com from.

Wow. Thanks for the info Dave! So, you lug a pick down there with you... and hack at the actual wall til some little round balls fall out?

Helen yes. Except my boy and I found a spot that had already been worked. Came back out with about 10 nodules. Not a single one had any agate. Good exercize tho! The area is about 15 miles west of Custer, SD.
