These are jasper cabs and copper wire...I know that allot of folks start with copper as a beginners wire but it does look nice with the jasper cabs.... Attachments:

These are your first?? I'd say you are off to a great start. You could do yourself a favor, though, and try using some 1/2 round for the bindings. It's easier and looks better. And, there's nothing wrong with copper!!! I use it ALL the time and sell some really expensive pieces made with it. If you like using copper, try some liver of sulfur on it to give it a warm patina.

Wow! They look toooo nice to be your first! For patina as suggested above, you could also use Black Magic from riogrande.com. Easy to use.

Superb first wraps, especially working with round wire. That stuff is hard to keep neat, at least for me.

yep , these are my first....also I have only been cabbing for about a month.....I was going to go with the half round but I was in a hurry and bought what the local hobby store had on hand .....honestly I surprised myself with how decent they look for first tries.....my wife was already holding them up to herself to see how they are going to look !.....

If you wanted to get that warm color and did not want to use those harsh chemicals, the home style recipe is........ bleach. Just dab it on using a sponge, let it dry, repeat until the shade you desire.
By the way those are great cabs with very nice wraps!!! Love the wraps, I like your style.
