Hi there, hope everyone has a great week.
I certainly do, we already got holiday from today (Ching Ming Festival, something similar than 2nd. November in the West) for one. This past week has been fantastic to me, First I got the wonderful creations from Helen, then Enchantra unveiled her design for my Polka Dot Koy that I showed a few months back (its fantastic and will show the pics when completed), and now I finally was able to finish my pet-project for this past few weeks.
It's A Montana Agate with a West Texas Tongue.
Here we got started a few weeks back, and then I broke the intended tongue. So I had to create a new one.
Now, I never intended to make this a two-stone project as my skills for making precise cuts is less than desirable. To my surprise it worked out much better than anticipated, and the tongue fits near perfectly. Did not cut through the mouth (left an extremely thin sliver of material to give the tongue a background and to keep the jaw more stable.
So far so good. But now, yesterday I went to the shop of my friend who normally does my metalwork and found the shop closed. So I, someone who has absolutely no idea about metal-work, had to find the right material and then sat down this past 24 hours to figure out how to finish what I had on mind. While the result shows that I am either unsuitable for this kind of work, or need a lot more practice, I think it came out reasonable. It could definitely have been a lot worse.
One more shot as worn by my younger daughter
So what do you think? Lets turn up the music?
Thanks for looking and may your week be as great as mine.
