I just spent a week or so at Glass Buttes knapping, and collecting rock. Here is some of the broken rock. The lighter ones, are dacite, the blacker ones are Black Butter, and the shiny one is Midnight Lace...all obsidian variety's. Woody Close up for scale of a Dacite biface.

Very nice. I have never learned the art but my son is quite good at it. It is good to see people doing this so the art is not lost. Jim

Those are awesome Woody! I really like the butter - the pieces you sent me a while back, were some of the easiest material I have ever knapped. Its hard to believe that it is glass, because it looks like black plastic when finished, but makes really fine points. That stuff is awesome!
