Testors enamel model paint. I put it on 1/8" stainless shaped like a cab and on a ugly cab to save layers. 1 layer per color as many layers as you can stand to do (about 30 minimum needed). Put on every few layers in a random pattern. Bake at 330 deg F for about 20 min per layer.
I might actually try this once more I have an idea for using a nice cab and taking the paint right off of the center so you get stone in the center framed with paint.

Cool. Reason I ask is because I painted cars (side gig) for 20 years. I've got left over paint in colors that are hard to imagine. (I did lots of streetrods). I also have 3-stage pearl paints. I'm wondering what pearl paint would look like..... I'm imagining something sorta like an opal (maybe). With my schedule though, it would take a year to do what you did. lol

I have the advantage of being able to do it at work during coffee break and at lunch. We have a drying oven that I can stick them into that is going anyhow so I don't even have to run my own oven. The guys at work are used to seeing me wrap cabs at lunch, but this has them wondering what I'm up too
