I have spent a lot of time studying jewelry from a few periods recently and decided to get creative. With the help from a few members here I stumbled across a few pieces that caught my eye. This is one I found through a link, or linked link Helen provided me. Thanks again for that! (some resources found here for anyone else who is interested forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=fossilsb&action=display&thread=52482 ) Genuine 025 silver;) Some silver solder we had laying around. I attempted to age the piece and give it a believable finish. Carleton

Very neat Carleton!!! I'm glad I could help a little bit!!
So you do silversmithing and are interested in doing reproduction work? Did you do that via lost wax technique? (carved the wax, then made mold?)

No,
I have never worked with silver, I want to try it some day though. I think I have made maybe half a dozen pewter pieces over 10 years. I think I just used carved clay for those.
This time I just carved up some soapstone. Not very professional and kind of a dirty method. I am however waiting on a quote for some jewelers wax, and may get into the lost wax casting.
Not sure if a lot of reproduction work interests me, I spent half my life doing it, but I always seem to wander back down that road, lol.
