UPDATE W/ PICS woke up sometime around 4am After I got up and ate, shot a pano of part of the view Check the artifacts thread for my first finds Picked up lots of agate and jasper. Here is some nice yellow jasper Went to a spot known to have fossilized belamites. This was the first few, didn't get a shot of the good ones Next, pet wood. I also didn't get good pics (yet) of the nice opalized wood Here is what you deal with rockhounding in Wyoming Ended the day with a beautiful sunset I barely slept last night, and tonight is very warm so I'm thinking I won't sleep great. I am exhausted but having fun, I need to try to sleep. Night all. I'm going off grid for a few days to do some intense hounding. I was going to meet up with Jim (wampidy) but he is under the weather. I'm bummed to miss him but like I told him it just makes it easier to justify a trip up to his neck of the woods another time. I'll be in the boonies of Wyoming, hopefully I'll return with a truck load of agate and jasper, maybe even some fossils! I'll post a report when I'm home.

Looking forward to your report. Never been to the Wyoming boonies, so take lots of photos, and catch lots of rocks. Enjoy!

Sounds like a cool trip. Watch out for those pet wood branches that move and buzz.

I am bummed also. I was really looking forward to that trip. As it turned out I woke up Saturday feeling fine but it was too late to go. I was so bummed out that I talked my son into going hounding in the area where I find the pink agate. We brought home about 75 pounds and I will be posting the pics in another thread.
I am happy that you are having such a great time and I hope we get another chance in the near future. Jim
