I was putting together a how to, on cutting Labs and was lucky to yield a few pieces with this pattern. My Wife grabbed one immediatly and wired it up. She tried something new to accomodate the rounded bevels. I think she did awesome Carleton

Hey Carleton, that's a beautiful cab and wrap! I was wondering if you have anymore cabs that have that brilliant purple in them? You don't see it often and wondered if you're in the market to sell some cabs? Let me know Krista

Nice Job! I have done one cab of it and just freeformed others and I have to agree the purple, yellow, orange is the hardest colors to come by. One 1/2 pounder i just couldnt slab up and did the one side of it. Came out nice. The green to rusty brown material that gives you the silver, gold and blue is hot stuff to.

Spectacular material, isn't it? Love Spectrolite, but has become a little too expensive for me lately. Both of you did a wonderful job on it! I like the cut and the wrap!

The wrap gives the stone a very regal look. Outstanding job on both the cab and the wrap Stu

Carleton your labradorite cabs are spectacular!!!
Digdug, what IS that?! The colors/patterns are completely different from the labradorite and spectralite that I've seen...

Hi Helen. It is labradorite. This is a one in a million stone that you luck out and uncover something you were'nt expecting. Going to leave as is because of that lucky rainbow lol, clean up the shape and polish. Had offers on it right after posting it. Thanks.

Wow, Thank you for all the great comments! Christopher, We just finished the rough guide. I am sure I've forgotton to include some things, I am sure there will be lots of revisions, but feel free to check it out (so long as this is ok, not sure if it goes against the unwritten rule of 50 posts): labradoritesandgems.com/How_to_cut_labradorite.htmlI dont know it all, but am willing to share everything i do know, lol. So if you have any questions or suggestions dont hesitate to send me a pm (same for anyone else) Krista, I managed to get 3 pieces, the one seen here, I set another in a gold setting, but there is a 3rd floating around "somewhere". We have about 4 dozen cabs on the go and I think there is some purple in a few. One particular one has the pin strip pattern with a full spectrum? Let me see if i can find the 3rd and I can also show you the others. Did you have any particular shape in mind? Digdug, That is some very nice stuff! We just had a few KG's yield a nice crisp pinstripe pattern, it sure is rare. Yours has a very stylish transition and I love the colors. Carleton
