I believe this piece came to me from Susan24224. I've never seen a lot of petrified wood, but I'm gaining a whole new appreciation for it. Took a great shine. I thought a nice, simple straightforward wrap would do nicely. Attachments:

Looks very nice! It always amazes me how nicely petrified wood takes on a polish. What a beautiful wrap too! That's one skill I still haven't tried to learn. I do a lot of chainmail jewelry, and hang tumbled, polished pendants from it, but the wrapping is so much prettier than glued on bell caps.

Another beautiful piece! I'm still fixing up the house so haven't touched any rocks in a few weeks but I got lots of stuff done. My mom will be here tomorrow, I might show her how to cab. If so, I'll post pics.

rx, it's not as hard to get started as you might think. Just give it a try. There's always help at your keyboard. Randy, that's so cool about your mom! She'll have a great teacher and do well. Looking forward to seeing pictures- from both of you.

Shoot, how did I miss this one! Pet wood is great, isn't it? Love the wrap on this! Simple, elegant and really enhances the stone! Very nice!
