Hi Y'all. I would like to show you a piece I just finished Monday. My fiancee, Kate, has already acquired it and calls it "Heaven and Earth."

My intent was to have the tanzanite draw the eye into the piece and then for the eye to rove down to the artistic jasper. I feel I have accomplished this objective.

The tanzanite is 1.9 carats and 9 x 7 mm, a nice size. I set it into a Rio Grande prong basket, which I soldered onto the piece. The bail is also from Rio Grande, a bit pricey, but I like it. I used an old sharpened nail punch and cold chisel for the stamping.

I further intended for the curves on the bottom of the piece to emulate the curves of the Deschutes jasper cabochon.

Finally, here is a stone canyon jasper pendant I just finished. It has a silver wire bail for wearing. I love Stone Canyon!
