You guys probably all know that Woodward Ranch in Alpine, Tx is FOR SALE. We hope to make one more trip before it's gone forever. For those who haven't been, Woodward is one of my favorite places to collect. Here are some cabs I have cut from agate collected there over the last 6 years. S

Gorgeous collection of Woodward! That orby bulls eye one at the top just jumps out at me!!! WHAT? ? I didn't know that or see that. Just got friended on Facebook from them just a few days ago. I'm really sad now.... Here's my favorite Woodward that I've had the privilege to work: I don't have near the amount that you do but... I LOVE the material and will be sad if it disappears...

Wow Susan, looks like you've found a little of every type Woodward has to offer. Love that peanut agate lower left. Sad to hear Woodward is being sold. Tough to keep a ranch going these days. Wonder if the new owners will still do fee digs. Probably not. More and more places closing these days....Mel

It's good to see you post some of your stones Susan! It's been a while...they are all a real treat. Not to mention those Killer Plumes in Krystee's cab. So...if they sell it the new owners will no longer allow collecting or ? Steve

BEAUTIFUL asortment of cabs. Sad to know the ranch is for sale, as far as I know it was a gathering place for many members here for several years.

Nice one, Krystee! Just got a new macro lens in the mail - so here are some more for your viewing pleasure. These were cut by Danny McGuire - This is the best biscuit I ever found there... A really cool banded agate found on the East Side Found this little chip on the Calamity Creek Road, very colorful This one came from Grandpa's Magic Rock Garden Super red and blue moss Golden moss in pale gray and yellow agate

Wonderful cabs. I never made it there but I was hoping to. This fall could be the last chance I get.

Omg.... found the Woodward Ranch listing: www.jwcarpenter.com/R122.htm$5.5 milllion, probably negotiable still... Ahhhh... INTERESTING!!! THIS price DOES NOT CONVEY MINERAL RIGHTS!!!! WOW. I've never seen that before. That means that the rocks on Woodward ranch can still be separately sold by the current owner. I'm sure they can't ask 5.5 mil for it, maybe a rockhound nearby can enquire and form a local rockhound joint venture for JUST the mineral rights? Mel? Woody? Who else is in Texas?
