I used to see an Argentina copal dealer at some of our shows. He would use wet/dry paper by hand and hand buff with a piece of old denim at the shows. Once at Quartzsite many years ago a guy had amber very low priced. I happened to overhear him tell someone on the phone "hurry up and make some more amber, this stuff is selling like crazy". You have to buy from a reputable as there is a lot of fraud with amber. As a hardened tree resin it is easy to make fake plastic look alikes.

A co-worker friend just gave me some amber beads that she has had in her family for years. Now I'm in search of an amber to tumble and polish to make a necklace for her with these beads. Beautiful pieces.
