Update: I'm sending it to diamond pacific to get the arbor straightened. Thanks to John at jsgems for helping me get hold of the right folks!
I bought a gently used genie this summer, and in general I really like it.
the arbor is not true though, and the vibrations really bad.
does anyone sell these, or does anyone know if it's possible to have 1 that is not true somehow repaired?

The arbor on a Genie is part of the motor. You'd have to replace the whole motor.
Are you sure it's the arbor ? Try loosening the wheels and turn them slightly on the adapters. They may be slightly out of balance, which would cause a vibration.

I've been through this, unfortunately. The end of the arbor rotates 1/8"- 1/4" out of true on one side. I can hand spin it and see the wobble with the motor off. I've tried loosening, spinning the wheels, tightening, etc and the wobble is there, and very pronounced, I'll try it againwhen get home, but i can see the mechanical defect and i can't imagine that there is enough adjustment in the wheel to correct it.

I would contact Diamond Pacific directly. If it is not very old it's possible they might warranty it. Even if they wont, that is where to get a new arbor. www.diamondpacific.com/

If the arbor is part of the motor, sometimes the motors can be rebuilt.. I used to live near a 'electric motor' shop and they rebuilt motors as well as sold them... most places that do alternator repair can do it too ... for a price, and you may have to provide the shaft depending on how hard it is to get one.
just my :2cents: worth for today!! Good Luck with it!!

your arbor can be repaired either by a motor repair or machine shop...some motor repair shops do there own machine work...some dont....so you may need both shops to repair it.
even better if you can take it apart yourself....then go straight to a machine shop.
2 ways to repair it....have the machine shop find out where the shaft is bent....the machine shop can easily find out where it is bent at....have them machine the shaft back true and then have them machine you some spacers that will fit the shaft and your wheels.
or they can machine the shaft back true and machine a sleeve that they can install back onto the shaft to bring it back to original size.
cost for the first way should be about $150 at your local machine shop.....2nd way about $200.....cost at the motor shop i dont have a clue.....kev.
