have you tried to see if the barrels that you have fit it looks like you should be able to get 2 barrels on at once I would not be overly concerned about the barrel speed as long as the barrels will spin and not touch each other and stay put.

I have a Thumler's Model B and the barrel is metal with a rubber liner, but the lips of the barrel run ON the rubber pieces on the shafts.
Hope this helps! Barbara

If you do that the barrel will eventually move to either side and come off the rollers. I've had that happen to me if I leave 1 barrel one and 1 off.

Yep! That's it! Your shafts look pretty worn out though. Make sure the rubber pieces are properly aligned. You my even have to buy new shafts.

ok from what i'm getting from all this i'm going to line the barrels up so the barrels are held in place by the rubber and let the lips sit on the metal shafts. this is an old old one. that picture is the new shafts that they use now. it runs great. alot better then it looks

I don't see why you couldn't just take a piece of hose the right diameter and slit it long ways and cut to length. Then slip it over the shaft between the small rubber wheels. Then your barrels would run on the rubber wheels, and the split hose would just act as a locator.

Hey Wiz; This looks like a good project for you. On mine I had to move the rubber a little to get it aligned with the lip on the barrels, so the barrels ride 'On' the rubber. Then I had to get a nylon washer that I put on each end of the shaft with a "dam-it" ring to keep the barrels centered, and keep them from walking into the drive belt or off the carriage. But I like it, and that is a good strong little motor. I could be that on this model the rubber fits between the lips on the barrel, and that is what keeps it from walking. I really don't think the diameter is going to change the rotation speed enough to affect anything.

The rotational speed of the barrel will be directly proportional to the diameter of the driver. For instance, if your barrel sitting on the rubber turns at 30 RPM and the diameter of the rubber is 3/4", and you move it to the shaft which was 3/8", your rotational speed of the barrel would drop to 15 RPM. Running the barrel on a polished metal shaft will also have a much lower coefficient of friction which will make it much easier for the barrel to slip.

Sorry guys, I didn't have a very good day. Woke up sick and cranky, and it went down hill from there. Feeling better now that the Red Wings won!

Way ta go, Wiz! Those kind of seats for a playoff game are priceless. I watched part of game 1, but it's hard when you're trying to watch every game (I have Hockey Pass). I caught enough to see that your Flyers were putting it to the Devils! Tell them guys to keep up the good work and maybe we'll meet in the Finals! That would make for a great series. By the way, the Red Wings just went up 2-0 on Nashville!

What can I say Wiz, we gotta let the other guy win something. That just means more games to watch! The flyers game last night was a good game to watch, just that the wrong team won. I switched and caught most of the Colorado-Stars game and watched Dallas win in ot. That was a good game too.

we are a little tough on our teams in philly, when they lose. but i hope they pull together after that loss. it's the only sport i watch. don't follow all the team stats just enjoy the flyers. was hoping for a win in four but now will have to watch two more

I know what you mean. Hockey is the only sport that interests me as well. One problem with the Red Wings is, if they win four straight, then they have time to sit and wait before they play again. They always play poorly if they have too much time off. They are at their best if they're pushed a little with a busier schedule.
