Ive had a full load of glass and obsidian tumbling for several months. I've kept it very full, mostly ceramic media medium and small. In the end the obsidian isn't too bad, but all the slag glass has frosted edges. I've stayed away from glass because it has given me trouble in the past. I'll stay away from it again, maybe give it a go in the spring with tile spacers and see how that plays out. I did all but coarse tumble in the uv10 The whole batch: Some of the frosted glass Some that isn't too bad

Thats good to know, I would have thought slag glass would be ok in an obsidian batch too.

Chuck, I have to imagine it is something I did wrong. It was nice to see the obsidian shine though.

You pulled some nice winners out of that batch so you're on the right track. I put my obsidian batch in the bird bath. The dove and mockingbirds seem to like it.

The bird bath-good idea Carlos.Bet i can fill it up w/my duds. That obsidian is real fine.I noticed some glass is way harder than others.I tumbled broken pieces of 3/8 thick table glass. It rounded faster than any material i ever tumbled.Must be due to the tempering process.A glass recycler is 10 miles up the road in S Atlanta industrial district. They sell 3 mixes-greens,blues or browns-for $70 a ton!!They let you dig and fill 5 gallon buckets from pre grind or post grind. If you have a recycler like that John-look them up.This company is called Strategicmaterials.com They have 40 locations across US.
