Stopped by the river and studyed the gravel real close.Picked thru it and found a good bit. The pottery is said to be Woodland age and later-about 1500 years ago(i think). These are above average in the variety and occurance of incisions. They were also well preserved and not crumbly. Found only broken projectiles. But nice scrapers. We call these big things skull crushers or konockulators

Let's go Keith.Save gas on that almost 3 hour road trip. They used to not be so sticky about romping around out there.Looks like the plantation format is taking over the property.Used have boulders of that stuff laying around out there. How often do you go?

I try and go at least 2-3 times a year . Yea it's a pretty good haul about 3 hours for me to. Are you finding the pottery pieces in the same area? I have some that I collected years ago on the S.C. side closer to Colombia. Yours have some nice patterns. Keith

I found these on the river(the river is super low) shoreline uptream from Stoney Bluff boat ramp. The mansion on the hill was incredible site to collect artifacts.Used to be a burned down house there and a bulldog that always had 3-4 rattlesnake bites festered up on him. They took a dozer and pushed the top layer into the river. Those boulders used to be on the hill. Now the camp is in the hillside and the river...And collecting these chips in the thicket is best done when the rattlers are sleeping. And that place with it's hi humidity is the hottest place on earth.Let me know next time you are headed out or stop by and see me here in Fairburn.

Sounds great .I have a little boat.It may come in handy. They cleared a lot of land on South Carolina side.It would handle Brier Creek too if you know of any exposure there.
