This is the first necklace I made for myself. I made my friend a citrine necklace and amethyst necklace and earring set but I didn't take photos of them. Anyway this is my 4th work. I have lots to learn and am having fun. By the way My camera is junk so it was really hard to get the pic this good. lol

Nice stone you have got there. Bail is glue on? Keep them coming!

Yes it is glue on. I don't have a drill press yet. Eventually though. I used 527 glue to attach the stone. It is much stronger that I thought it would be. I've got a batch almost finished in the tumbler. There are many more promising rocks in this batch. Should be fun.

I have more ideas in the works, just waiting for more rock from the tumbler. I have browsed a little and have found some inspirational works from members here. Buying a drill press and bits this weekend to I can add to my arsenal. I can't wait! I am open to any suggestions or tips. And........ Thank You everyone for the confidence boost!

Hey Tony. Really nice. I've been working on stuff like what you have there my question is, how did you close up the other end? I mean how do you put it on? does it slip over the head or do you have some type of closer on the back side? Thanks for your time. Spiff

Let me try this again. I have made a couple different necklaces and am getting my post confused. This one actually doesn't come off. What you see are the ends terminated onto a jump ring. The jump ring through the bail. The bail is glued on front and back. I suppose if I wanted to I could open the jump ring and take it off. I'm sure there are more creative ways to do it. I did have the stone glued with bail and 2 jump rings. 1 tiny and 1 medium so it would be like a regular necklace but the lobster claw clasp kept creeping around to the front. I didn't like that so I made it a more permanent fixture.

I forgot to mention it is large enough to slip over my head.

Watch out. Drilling gets addictive...and a little pricey if you go through drill bits like I do. But it's very gratifying!
