I went to the local Christian School today and shared fossils with the Kindergarten class. I had a bunch of belemnite pieces and pet wood that I hounded last summer with my kids, and I let them each take a couple pieces home. We looked at lots of other fun stuff I had hounded, bought and traded for to show-and-tell. Showing off the Mississippi River Pet Wood from John (Thunder69 - thanks John!) Checking out a piece of turritella agate I hounded last summer: Seeing light through some dinosaur bone slabs: Looking at the Trilobites I traded Donnie for last month - you can see the fossil fish below my hand from her as well (thanks again Donnie!): passing around the belemnites: Getting "ooh's" and "aah's" looking at the 2 large ammonites I got on a steal at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show last summer: Similar to my last outing the kids had a ball and were all very interested and engaged. I continue to be too busy to do much with rocks these days (mostly one-off hand-polished stones) so this was a treat.

Nice way to spend the day. If you would have done this last week I would have remembered to look for a big orthoceras for you.

Gotta love the looks on those kids faces. At that age they're so receptive to new and interesting things.

It was fun, the little girl with the pink flower in her hair was adorable. She ran back as I was packing up and gave me a hug then ran away.

A great way to share interesting items to an appreciative audience, you likely molded a couple new rock hounds and gave the teacher a bit of a break to:). Nice job.

The kids look like they are totally immersed in your fossilized specimens, and pretty cool that many were given to you by RTH members!

Thank you for being so kind as to show your treasures with all those little one. I can tell you from experience that Don and Brian sent me all kinds of neat things to share and give to my students and they had a ball. It will be an experience they will never forget.
