Polyps,oysters,crazy shapes,new colors

The polyps are hard to find like this.The oysters surprised me that they were silicified,i passed over hundreds.The crazy shapes were also passed over.And some new colors from vein 3R.

I was looking at your baculites and Carlos' petrified palm+wood.They are combo rocks-once alive and now made of jewelry grade agates and calcites.The fossil factor adds a whole lot to the interest and incomprehendable ness of this stuff.

In pics 7 n 8 are those from the one you shot with your gun? Looks like the same shape as ones you showed not long ago that you shot with gun. Good looking stuff. I like how there is still some of the outside left on them.

You can see detail on that one Mel.A good perspective of what the Florida coral looks like.

Brad,those are slivers of coral split along the grain like you would split firewood.They have a very old patina and split long ago.In many cases many small corals make up one coral and they fall apart.

I saw a boulder full of those things Jan.They had fallen out of that giant rock and were all over the place.I should have poened one to see that it was silicified.

If you were closer than Georgia, I could teach you metalsmithing. You might also want to consider having some settings cast by a casting house. If you hook up with your local gem and mineral club, they could probably help. Good luck : )

What color does brown dog poop turn? My wife won't let me use her oven.
