Can anyone tell me the length of the arbor shafts on a genie? I need the length of 3/4 inch shaft that sticks out each side and the length and pitch of the threads on the ends of the shaft.
Thanks Lee

I'm pretty sure it is 5/8" shaft. They use a shaft adapter that screws onto the shafts. Titan is metric but I don't know about the Genie. Mine is buried in my garage but I'm pretty sure shaft length is 5" or 6". If you are building I would recommend longer shafts to accommodate more wheel space.

Shaft diameter is a couple thousanths over 5/8", and tapers to a little larger toward the inside. From the shoulder on the motor shaft to outer end is 5 5/8". There is a 1/4" thick steel spacer against the shoulder, then a 1/8 thick plastic spacer/washer against the steel spacer. Threads are 13/16" long, .616 major diameter and 2mm pitch. Looks like a loose M16x2.0 thread.

Well, for some reason I had thought it was 3/4 inch. Glad I checked before getting started. Thanks John and quartz. No chance that the pitch is 2.31mm which would be 5/8-11tpi?

Lee, Nope, I just went out and tested it again with screw pitch gages to make sure. 2.0mm fits perfectly, 11T.P.I. is way off. If you are making something for a specific machine, might better ck. shaft dia. first. The shoulder right out of the motor housing is very close to 3/4" dia. Possible, but not likely, something was changed at some point, I think our Genie is fairly old: cat. no. 77-812. generally indicates a 1977 build year. I was a little suprised to find the shaft tapers a little toward the inside, not normal for a motor shaft, especially a Baldor motor. Larry
