I would love to have a $650 lockset on my $60 door. Somebody would steal the lockset and not even come inside.

Nice idea. I wanna see if I can do this on my door! I can use a regular lockset and add the spheres. Might be a nice product to sell to rockhounds.

Pretty to look at, but wouldn't want to accidentally bump up against it if you're nekked... After stealing the door knob, they wouldn't bother coming in to my house, either! Jean

I followed your link hoping for ideas. That website is another charletan. He is selling "left twist liquid water crystals". Well... what is it? Water or ice? They also sell some "water purifying shungite stones". They looked like activated carbon (which is water purifying) so I googled shungite, it is carbon! $118/lb! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShungiteThese people could not exist if people did not buy their products. Oh my god. |

yeah I wouldn't think of buying anything there at all. I just liked the ideas for using spheres on the pot and pan lid handles and the door handles.

There was a local jeweler in a renovated industrial building here that had labradorite sphere door handles on the entry door for her shop. They were gorgeous!
I've loved the idea, but that's pretty spendy.

I am going to the hardware store tomorrow for a client. I am looking at door handles to see if I can replace my knobs! Way cheaper when you make your own spheres!  NDK, I love that! A jeweler with a sense of detail beyond most. |

Justin and Tim are just as or more capable than I! Until I disassemble a a knob I wont know how it will attach. I am going to guess: drill a hole in the sphere and epoxy it to the fixture.
My wifey really likes it. I have some red stone creek jasper that is a color of burgundy she loves. So I will look into putting in our bedroom/bathroom. Need four matching sphers for that! If I have to fabricate metal, then I am SOL unless we have a member here who might like to trade (Hint to Jean!!!) lol

Oooh... has anyone found the bases they use for these door knobs?? I found the original manufacturer - www.stonesetc.com/ - and while they sell the sets much cheaper, they won't sell the metal bits without a rock. I've been looking at retrofitting a Home Depot/Lowes door knob set but I don't think I can get a nice finished look. |

panamark Uh, not really. Fortunately for me, I have a chain link fence (albeit a short one) across the front of my property, with a beware of dog sign on it, and no doorbell for someone to summon me to the door. So, generally, I never have to answer the door, nekkid or not. Works for me! Only have had a few stoopid souls actually open the gate and venture in. Lucy would not hurt a flea, but the salesmen don't know that! And James, you know where I was for the past week and a half. Right here: N 32.84842 W 114.50199. Nudist rock collecting colony, okaaaay...
