Awesome, you better find a good chiropractor after doing a clean-out on that thing!

Wow. That would take a lot of grit.

I have a lot of silica carbide from my sandblasting business. I've been doing experiments with pickup truck liner for the inside.

I also immediately thought of grit consumption. You're fortunate to have that supply!

I had a look at one also built from a concrete drum. It was lined with what looked like either conveyer belt, or big mud flaps bolted to one edge only. Each overlapped the next like shingles to protect the bolts holding them. they were tumbling river rock for landscaping. Woody

I may Just try that. I should be able to get a hold of some used conveyor belt pretty easy. Thanks Woody

That's some tumbler, hopefully a long way from neighbors. Really like the hydraulic pump drive. Was the truck fitted w/a dump bed to supply the barrel? Nothing quite like ingenuity, great stuff.

Concrete trucks mix turning one way and empty out the chute when turning the other way. It does this because there are corkscrew-like fins welded to the inside of the drum. In my case I cut the fins out and unbolt the hatch in the side to load and unload. Lucky for me I live in the middle of nowhere so the noise is not a problem.
