Looks like a FUN project. Oven cleaner from the dollar store does a good job at removing years of grime.
Like Clyde said, Lots of Pic's.

Can't really tell, if it's not a home made saw it's possible that's what was called an "Ideal" slab saw that came in kit form. I have the original paperwork in my shop somewhere. "somewhere" lol.

Shame you don't live over here. We'd soda blast that puppy right down to bare metal.
Can't tell much from the pic, but it looks like there might be enough room for a 24" blade. At least it looks like you have room under the blade.

When im out in the shop ill try and find it today and let you know. I'm pretty sure it's just the sales literature. These were sold in kit form thus the wood tank. I could just copy it and mail it to you no big deal.

Wow, 22 inches? I can't imagine cutting anything that big!! I'd like to see some progress pics too. I've got an old 18 inch HP that I gotta finish one of these days.

Borock, I was somewhat intimidated by the rust that I found on a 12" saw that I acquired, until I started disassembling, and investing some effort with steel wool, bathing it in WD 40, and using a wire wheel on anything the correct shape to get near the bench grinder. In the end, surface rust is offset by all that oil that the machine will be bathed in. Have fun getting it going. Serious rust removers like oxalic acid make things prettier but often are not needed.
