Last summer when I was visiting my uncle in Medford, Oregon he gave me a small slab of black Petrified Wood to make a pendant for his niece. This uncle, one of the very few that I have left, taught me how to cab in 1958. Obviously he was getting on in years and at the time of my visit he appeared to be getting rather feeble. I agreed to make the pendant and I had planned on going by this spring to drop it off for him. Sadly, he passed away three weeks ago so to my deepest regret I didn't get there in time for him to give to his niece. This niece who lives close by had been looking after him closely over the past few years so he felt indebted to her so this pendant was a token of his gratitude for all of his help. He had no children so he left all of his property to her. She definitely deserved it for so much hard work. I just finished the pendant today and I'm going up to Oregon on Friday to give it to her. Think she'll like it? Bob

I'm sure she will like it. And this is not only because of the touching story behind it, but also due to its exceptional beauty and elegance.

Stunning combination -- bittersweet story, but ending with the pendant adds a smile. Thanks for sharing.
