Decided to copy Chuck's idea for a two story tumbler. I only had a week off this month, but was able to build, stain and polyurethane the bench. It's all pine, with walnut Minwax stain. I use the brush on, wipe off method to give it an older look. The whole thing has two coats of polyurethane, and the work bench has four. It's spring and my garage is a disaster. Deal with it.

Thanks guys! I whipped up a quick pulley calculator, and it looks like I'll be running all 2 and 4 inch pulleys on 1/2 inch rods. I'll send off my order for the motor, pulleys, bearings and rods Tuesday when my pay stub comes out. Gotta know how much overtime to put in this hitch

Cool project.
What are you going to use for barrels? I may have a few extras laying around.

James, not many bikinis in Alaska. Other wise I would be MORE than happy to do your idea.
Tim, I have a few Lortone 4.5 inch barrels for the top shelf and a Thumlers 8.25 inch (12#)barrel for the middle. It can hold 2 of the 12# barrels and 4 3# or 8 1.5# barrels.

That's a really nice job on the "structural frame" for the lapidary equipment, Geoff. I love the way the staining came out.
