Great pieces. The one on the bottom row, center - is that mahogany obsidian? Beautiful work! Paul

The obsidian on the bottom row center is mahogany with a little bit of midnight lace which doesn't really show up unless you look at it closely. Of course when you look at it closely, you will see all the little scratches that come from the diamond polishing pads I use. Still haven't figured out how to get those scratches out.....
The labradorite on the top left has some color to it but it's hard to photograph. The India sunstone on the top right has some nice copper sparkles to it.
Matt - we will definitely get some good stuff at the rock sale too.
Justin

awesome justin!! really shiny. what material is it?
be careful with blue g. polish a window to be sure its a color you want. or you'll spend a lot of time on a dud. stuff is harder and more durable than nephrite jade. polishes well with alox from rock shed. orange peels with tin or cerium oxide.

Not exactly sure what kind of material it is. It has some translucent parts and is very hard material. I think my diamond cups kept on glazing over and I had to sprinkle grit on it to keep grinding. It has a few fractures and pits in it but took a great polish on my 8000grit diamond pads.
