;D I have finally finished the first batch of Flint, Agates and jaspers. The cerium oxide did the trick. I do believe they could be even better with another final polish and burnish, but I'm pretty happy with them. There were several test materials in the batch that only ended up semi-glossed, one unknown and some Novaculite from Arkansas. I wish I would have run more agressive grit and for longer on the first stage, to shape better, but it was a learning experience. Next time I will. Anyway, if any of you would like to see a pic, I will e-mail one to you. I stitched together a small .jpg that has a before and after pic together. The after pic is just a handfull of the total load to show color and shine better. Just drop me an e-mail at "donwrob317@aol.com" and I'll reply with a pic on the e-mail or as an attachment, which ever works best for you, Thanks, Don (p.s. nice comments or constructive flaw picking are both welcome)

OK, I get it. You guys are holding out for a better deal. You figure next week I'll get so desperate for someone to take a peek at my lousy pic that I'll offer a cash prize for viewing it or maybe some free rocks? Ya never know, maaaaybeeee I'll give a prize to the first one to e-mail me for the pic? Haha, ya just never know...lol That doesn't sound tooo desperate does it? In all seriousness, I've had a blast with the rocks. The guys at work all have lucky rocks in their pockets now and the neighbor kids too. Everyone seems fasicinated by them. They are truely magical and it's fun to see people fondle them and try to pick the one that was meant for them. SO WHY THE HECK DOESN'T ANYONE ON HERE WANT TO SEE THE PIC? Hehehe, just kiddin, I'm OK now, Talk to you later, Don

Hi Dwight, thanks for the reply. I went ahead and sent you an e-mail with the pic. Yes, I also have too many rocks and too little time I am going to a big rock shop about an 1 1/2 hours from me monday morning. I am going to look into a vibratory tumbler for pre-polish and polish only. I guess they aren't that great at rough shaping, but are killers for polishing. Just a couple of days in each stage at the most. I am also going to try some more agressive grit for my Model B in the first stage, some 46-60. Thanks again, and talk to ya later, Don

Please email me pictures! we were on vacation. n.willson@earthlink.net. We have a mini-sonic rock tumbler. It is addicting to watch the rocks tumble. I feel like I was hypnotized. The rocks we have are so smooth and oval shaped already. We just put them in 600 grit for 48 hours then titanium dioxide for 2 days and they are gorgeous! We just got back fro Lake Tahoe yesterday and I have pounds of rocks to tumble. we just finished a load this morning and after washing the rocks, put them in a bowl to admire. I wish I had a bigger machine as 3 pounds of rocks at a time is slow going even with the short polish time. The titanium dioxide is like Desitin baby ointment and is nasty to clean off concrete where we tumble. My husband is ready to kill me. My 7 yr old twins and I are caught watching the rocks turn in the tumbler all the time instead of doing something constructive.. oh well, we are addicted! Look forward to the pictures.

The pic is in the mail ATR, thanks for asking! It sounds like you have a couple of good helpers there. I'll have to try some of that Titanium dioxide to see how it does on the flint I use. Thanks again, talk to you later, Don
