Megalondon???

I watch alot of the History and Animal Planet channels.....Its "Shark Week" and thought I would tune it on an hour or so of the specials....
Found it to be very interesting about the story that unfolded in South Africa,about a fishing vessel that was attacked and sunk from a shark!
Investigators and shark tecs,plus science people headed into the same area where this tragedy happened.
They spread out an area of 5 miles of "chum" and used a wounded whale call to bait the sharks...
Also putting three people into a shark cage(large cage) to put a tracking device onto the shark by a speargun device...
They spent all day there with small,bigger and huge sharks coming into range,but not the one they wanted to see.
Later that night all hell broke lose when their vessel was hit by an object in the ocean,it was hit again,under attack(it shook the whole vessel(big boat)...)..
As the camera crew started to see what was attacking the boat,they were amazed to see a giant shark starting to attack their cage!In the process,one diver did spear the shark with a tracking device.
Than all hell broke lose for the caged divers!!! The shark started tearing the cage apart like it was just made of wood!
Than silence,the crews on the boat started looking for the divers with lights and spotted two of them in the water,a rescue boat picked them up with one more diver missing..They finally spotted the other diver and went to pick her up..All three were safe,but shaken up!!!!
The divers got on board the vessel and calmed a bit than reviewed what they had on their cameras.. It was a shark over 40 feet long!About the size of a prehistoric Megalodon!!!Massive!!!
Than a crew member yells to them that the tracking device was being picked up by their equipment and working and on the move at a great speed!!!!
It dove deeper and deeper into the ocean,over 6500 feet,they lost contact with the shark after 6522 feet!
Still to this day,several months after,it hasn't came back to prove of its return or existence!!!!
I seen the footage on their camera! That shark was a freakin' monster out of a horror film!!!
Our oceans are so full of life that we may never know whats down there!
I think we should be spending money on whats on this planet instead of whats on Mars or other planets!!!
Explore the ocean floors,cave and valleys below the water,maybe we will never know!!!!

The part at the end where the boat gets nailed was pretty good. Shook it pretty violently and the boat was pretty dang big, looked like a ship. I didnt think you could see the shark on the camera too good. It was like blair witch action. Shaky cameras. Why would anybody want to get in a cage and think that they are safe from a 60 ft shark is beyond me. I dont know how that lady could of gotten a shot off like they said. I would of died from heart failure. Ill have to check it out again. Recorded the program. I was thinking maybe she missed her shot and the radar thing just sank to the ocean floor but they said they had signal for quite a while even after it dove to over 6,000 ft. Never really showed any graphs or anything showing that it moved elevation like it would of if it was attached to something. Just had to take their word for it, I guess.

You forgot to mention the big lure they used that looked like a whale. They shot the chum around it so it looked injured/dead. During the chaos scene, the lure got taken under or whatever happened it to. It just disappeared and it was the size of a real whale.

They did have footage but it wasnt the greatest but you could see something massive. Like the footage of when the rescue helicopter was pickeing up that one guy in the rescue basket and it showed that huge thing in the water just below the guy getting rescued. The guy in the helicopter said no doubt it was a shark. Frickin thing was huge.
And that underwater camera that showed that robot working on the sea floor and then something swimming by that was massive. Couldnt really tell what it was but they estimated it at over 60 ft and a little kid was watching live feed on the internet and happened to see it and told someone or they never would of seen it. Didnt have any white on it like a typical whale so they said it was a shark.


Pretty cool that there are all those live feed cameras that you can watch on the internet. I never really thought about it but it does sound neat.

I really dont get into the whole shark week thing but the megalondon portion of shark week was pretty intersting to me.

I would like to know what they were saying at the end in the end in the printed type at the bottom of the screen. They flashed it so quick that there was no way to read it, just catch a few words.

Here you go. Just watched it over. It was very fast. Way faster than credits. I had to use the pause option to catch it.

Here are all three things that flashed real quick
None of the institutions or agencies that appear in the film are affiliated with it in anyway, nor have approved its contents.

Though certain events and characters in this film have been dramatized, sighting of "submarine" continue this day.

Megalodon was a real shark, legends of giant sharks persist all over the world. There is still debate about what they may be.

I didnt even notice the fast moving part at end. I was about passed out in bed. Just watched it again.

I thought the end part looked a little 'fishy'. After reading the fast moving part at the end it pretty much confirms it. I had a feeling the last portion of the documentary was made it. Especially when it got all blair witch. The main actor says "what happened to my video, I dont have any video". Just so happens to be when the 'chaos' starts. Easy giveaway. When the cage was getting knocked into the shark looking thing could of just been a whale. It was at night and the mouth was closed and all you could see is a black imagine what looked to be either a whale or shark.
And the fake whale lure? Thats easy. They just disconnected from it is why it disappeared or had it ropped up on the side of the vessel where you couldnt see it.

Problem: I am not sure if there is a device like that that can send a signal to the surface through > 6000' water. Not one you can attach to a spear. And unless you were directly over the fish, it would be a MUCH, MUCH greater distance through water. Maybe the navy has such stuff ??, both nothing civilian that I know of. The devices they use to track whales must be very close to the surface to effectively transmit. When the whales dive, they loose it until it resurfaces. Just wondering when Mermen vs. Nessie episode will be aired.
