Well, Titan is out of the question as I believe it is too expensive for my amateur needs. So what is the difference(besides the obvious 2" difference in size of wheel) between the Pixie and the Genie? There is also a several hundred dollar difference in cost, but that is less important to me than whether the Pixie will do as good a job as the Genie. For the amateur, what are the pros and cons one vs the other? Also, how significant are having the Nova and Galaxy wheels and can they be used on any cabbing machine?

Bigger is always better when it comes to cabbing machines. You'll have more room to work with the larger machine. And yes, the Nova and Galaxy wheels can be used on other machines. Many an old Covington or Highland Park machine have been converted over to all diamond machines.

Lots of RV'ers use pixies as they fit into the compartments easier but most of them also have a genie or a titan back at home. You can put diamond on anything that turns.

I agree with MrCatManDo But if space isn't a problem your probably better off with the Genie
I really like my Pixie tho. Small compact easy to move Only a couple of wheels are really wore and that's after a year & half of pretty serious grinding grind on mohs

I think the most significant difference is the Pixie wheels are really close together limiting sizes you can work. With the Genie you can buy an adapter shaft (like I did) and run 4 wheels on with a lot of space between wheels and spin on the the other two wheels as an assembly. The Pixie is a well built machine and at about 30 lbs. very portable. The Genie is more versatile with the spin on adapter shafts that can be set up with carving wheels, different wheels, different spacing, etc. All Diamond Pacific wheels are made in the USA and have a 1" arbor. With bushings you can mount them on any machine. Anytime you increase wheel diameter you will grind faster at same motor speed but diamond wheels cut so fast you would really have to be a production shop to see the advantage.
