Well school is back in session and rocks and fossils are displayed. Over the summer I was blessed with finding a 82.3 lbs Tube Worm Colony in Oregon. My husband I carried it two miles to the car. After a long needed rest, it is displayed in the library for the students to see. Found a few pieces of bone and teeth. I can't wait for my students to visit. Life is good!

I am sorry but you lost me on the tube worm colony. I would love to see photos. Jim

It looks like Coral. A worm called a Dodecaceria Fewkesia makes the colony. I have a picture but each time I tried to attach the file it says it is to big. I then made it as small as I could and it still will not attach the file. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

The amount of space for posting photos directly is full. Need to use something like photobucket, flickr, etc, and upload your photos there. Then insert the URL for your photos in your post.

I love tube worms. They are high in protein! Just kidding Elizabeth. Can I bring your husband along next time I go rock hunting. I will get him a back pack and feed him steaks-all he wants. Please post photos of tube worm fossil and your husband so I won't pick a fight w/him:)

sorry elizabeth..... please know this is really me ribbing you..... "Pictures, or it doesn't exist!" QUOTE "Shotgunner: Thanks Tony. I just need a few minutes so I can image and ut up. But in the move I messed up the wiring for the saw-motor. Popping a breaker prolly means hard ground.Aug 13, 2013 at 8:17am" Um, this was, what, two days ago? You were talking image and put up? And where is the evidence of this happening?? You shouldn't be so quick to cast stones, even on a rock forum, LOL!

Dear elizabeth; rockpickerforever has seen fit to take me to task for my own failings. I am human and make mistakes. Therefore please allow me to take back my request and subsequent teasing about photos. Elizabeth I offer humble, sincere and heartfelt apologies. I hope we can remain friendly. Now, I must sign off, I need to go get help. Dearest Jean; Be nice!! I have your sphere. HA!

I just couldn't help myself, Scott... Can ya believe how quickly that got there? Have you opened it to see if it is still intact, and not crushed by the behemoth chunk o' Rainbow Ridge? If it's already busted up, ya got no leverage on me. HA back at ya!

Haven't opened the box yet. I'm at work. If I open it here then it's a PIA to take home.

Okay guys, I am at a school site and they will not allow me to download any programs such a photobucket. If someone would send an email address I could send you the picture of the tube worm colony. Or you will just have to believe me!! Janet

That's a cool chunk! Are the tube worms fossilized, or recent? What a great guy you are, Scott, for posting that for her. Okay guys, I am at a school site and they will not allow me to download any programs such a photobucket. If someone would send an email address I could send you the picture of the tube worm colony. Or you will just have to believe me!! Janet Elizabeth, er - Janet? - To use Photobucket, you do not download anything onto your computer. You go onto their website, and sign up, open an account. Just like you did here. Then you upload photos and/or videos to their site. Hard to believe school is in session already. Used to be, it didn't start back up until after Labor Day.

I tried that but being a school so much is blocked. We have a very strong filter. Just to get to this site I had to pull major strings. I do appreciate Scott doing that for me.
