It is found in the Dakotas as well. A couple of brothers I know from the Cloud's show days specialized in it. I think they were from North Dakota. Neat stuff.

Lots of that in Western North Dakota....Thumbs up In fact it is the official State stone for North Dakota - toredo petrified wood. The best pieces are still hollow where the worms ate it out, so you can see the channels through the wood. One guy said he found one with a petrified worm still in it, but it didn't look like one to me.

It seems like i continue to see Dakota and Montana materials that look exactly like materials from Zapata.
I am anxious to go back. I have permission on a ranch that has some of the highest ancient gravel shelves and just full of great material.
That is a find and you got it shined up and super round Carlos.

Spent half my life in Montana,the other half in North Dakota....Not much in North Dakota,but whats there is cool finds...Mostly on the western and southwestern part of the state...
