How did you polish those? Great selection. Here in the south some collectors call coral with small 1mm corallite 'pin head' coral because the corallites are the size of a pin(like sewing pin). which is about 1mm. This coral often silicifies w/a very glassy agate. And the tubes are wavy. Most coral may have an arc in the tube but pinhead is wavy and random and makes no sense. It is about the most sought after by knapers too. Here is a well silicified piece of pinhead coral with faint corallites. Part of an 8 pound chunk

Very cool corals! Nice job on polishing the faces. Shows the polyps/coralites well! A treat for the eyes!

I do not think that i have found that corallite structure over here. It is quite repetitive. I am not sure why coral latin descrip uses hex because the structures are usually 5-10 sided. Those are repetitively 6 chambered.

Great looking coral........Next time I'm around the Newport area,I'll be keeping my eyes pealed for this stuff...Took a nice polish too....
