I've come across several of these in lake Michigan and Huron in the past. I recently found one in SE Michigan while out for a hike. Does anyone know what type of fossil this is?

Can't see a lot of it, but could be syringopora coral. Jean

I've been leaning towards syringopora since they are common in Michigan; however, I've never seen another example.
