I have a Genie, I like my Genie!! Now I am going to use my Genie with flat laps on the left end. Found out I can't put the cover/top on it with a flat lap on the end. Oh well! My problem right now is how in the heck am I going to get water to the flat lap? The normal geyser is not going to work. Anybody got any hint/tips on how to rig this up? I found an aquarium pump & a small submersible pump that went to a small, and I mean small fountain. So I have these two gadgets I could use if they would be feasible.

Easiest solution is to have a shelf above your unit with a 1-2 gallon ice cream container or similar plastic bucket. Drill a 1/4" hole near the bottom and install an air conditioning needle valve. Run a 1/4" plastic tube from the valve to the place you want the water. Fill the bucket with water and turn the valve to allow the desired amount of water. I can go take a photo of my set up if you ask for it.

Thank you Dave! A picture would be great! Don't know where I would get an ac valve though.

If you have any friends that work in the medical field, my solution was to take an old IV bag and hang it above the end of my Genie. Snaked the end down to the cover (I can use my cover by unscrewing the plate that covered the end). Wrapped a small length of wire around the end of the tubing with electrical tape, this makes a positional drip pipe. The little screw nob that adjust the flow of water from the bag is the adjustment. Works really well. The only downfall is the 1 liter capacity and the slow fill of the IV bag using a funnel. A solution is to have two bags ready and full when starting a project.
Hope this helps. Could send pics if needed. Studio is a wreck right now unfortunately.

Not sure if this helps or not but I had a picture of my drip bucket valve so I figured I would post it. There's a hole drilled in the bucket and then another washer and nut on the inside with plumbers putty between the washer and bucket on both sides. Not one bit of leak in over a year. All parts were from home depot and they are push-connect so just cut the tubing and push it in. Chuck

Donnie u can use leather or rez disc with diamond spray or paste applied to the disc and moistened with silicon spray and no water. This is for like 1200 diamond and above.

You only need lots of water if you are grinding, if you are using it for polishing a spray bottle will be sufficient

All of the Genies I have seen have a removable plastic end panel on the splash hoods. It was just a matter of unscrewing 3 or 4 small screws with nuts to remove the panel to mount and use the disc. After removing the end panel just slide the water pan and hood assembly to the left until you have room for the brass geyser to spray on the flat end disc.

Being a smart a** here:) Get a Cab King, water spray to both sides from the factory, the end plates remove without taking screws out. Now I figure the what is better fight with happen LOL. I am just about 2 years running this one with zero problems, still original wheels, although the 280 is getting worn. I use the genie's at the club, personally I like the cab king better, thats a personal choice.
Ok off to work for me

Donnie, the end panel removes with 3 screws. The Genie comes from the factory with a geyser angle block to supply the end laps. Hood is left on. If you order the geyser base ($3.75 101-BASE) order two and place both geysers under the lap. Some people turn the pan 90 degrees but mine works in normal position.

Thank you Dave! A picture would be great! Don't know where I would get an ac valve though. I bought mine at Ace hardware and Home Depot. Here is the photo: There is a spare at the bucket side so you can see the other side of the valve. Lighting will have brass nuts that fit the threads. I placed flat washers and wrapped some Teflon tape on the threads before inserting and tightening them down. I was wrong. The spray bottle is by far the easiest!

Thank you Dave, that's pretty elaborate & looks like an excellent system. Don't think I have the space to do it though. Thanks for taking the time to take a picture for me. John, I will check on the geyser angle block. Maybe it's the type of flat lap I put on there but the hood won't fit on it with that particular one on there. It's a crystalite. I will try one of the other types, I think they may be narrower. I traded for some used ones. Thanks everyone else for your ideas, as well!

Donnie, are you talking no hole spin on laps on the right side or 1/2" center hole laps on the left side?

Sorry, I just noticed the title says left side. You can still use the angle base to supply water. I've never tried to put standard laps on mine but they are supposed to work. If it is standard size (top lap and master or facet lap it should be about 1/2" thick. You might want to call Don or Kevin at Diamond Pacific and ask them.
