Many years ago I made a ton of wall hangings out of copper wire, coat hangers, copper and steel tubing.I did a lot of cartoon characters and a few out of the Funny Papers like Hagar,Helga and Lucky Eddy.
I graduated to making "scenes" and a few animals.I made a lobster out of copper tubing and copper wire that was about 36" across at the claws and a WHOLE bunch of other pieces. The pieces ranged in size from only a few inches to over 4 feet tall and all of them are gone(somewhere)except my very first piece. It's a rooster made from 1/4" and 3/16" steel tubing that I painted "rooster colors"! LOL It's hanging over my bench and I'll post a photo of it later,,,,I forgot to take one! LOL
Last year for some reason I got tired of playing with rocks and jewelery and as I sat at my bench I looked up and saw my rooster.I had just met a couple from Rhode Island and the guy refinishes and restores old used furniture,,,funny how the mind works!Roosters, rocks and furniture???
Being a tad bored I decided to make the guy(Tim) a little rocking chair out of coat hangers. The couples last name starts with the letter "N" so I incorporated an "N" in the chairs design.

It was last fall and I was on a roll but didn't know what to attempt next???I went outside and the leaves were falling like rain and I had a crazy thought."I wonder which leaf will be the last to fall?"
Here it is,,,,
Made from some coat hangers,a big spike and a copper leaf,,,

Still on a roll I ended up making all sorts of crazy things for Christmas gifts for friends and family trying to make each piece to fit their likes, hobbies, etc,,,,

Each piece was given several coats of clear lacquer.
You may laugh but the most difficult think for me to do was to try to decide on what to make the "boobs" out of(for the woman figures) and how to make a womans hair out of copper wire! LOL
The simple thought of looking at the rooster started me out on a venture that I'm still enjoying!
