I know this is an open ended and vague question- but all the silver I have right now is wire for wire wrapping and a little 24g sheet and an assortment of bezel wire.
I know I need some heavier g wire and some half round. What do y'all find most useful?

8g D wire makes good ring shanks. 10ga sq wire is nice for cuffs.

wire for jumprings for chainmaille: usually 16 gauge and 18 gauge
sheet for fold forming: mostly 24 gauge; thicker is hard to bend even when annealed
sheet backing for cabs: usually 24; the bigger the piece, the thicker the gauge
Good question!

I use a lot of 10-12 and 14 ga double half round for ring shanks and split the ends in the center from 10 to 15mm, file the ends at about a 35-45° angle, Shape it on the ring mandrel, then use a bench knife to spread the ends of the shank open. (see ring in my avatar) I use a lot of 8 ga double half round for cuff bracelets. Most of my jewelery can't be called "delicate" and customers appreciate the fact I don't skimp on silver. Nothing worse than having a ring shank get bent out of shape because it was too light of a gauge. Unless of course the size of the stone dictates a smaller shank For round, I keep 10 through 20 ga on hand with 14 ga being what I use the most of

Off and rolling! Have you looked into Draw plates? I like twisting wire and drawing it through 1/2 round or square.

Yes, at some point, I'd like to get draw plates, too. I need to be rich so I can everything I want I one time.
