Tommy sent me a few nice pieces of Montana agate after I was in awe of the great cabs he was doing. This is one of the cabs I made. I love the kind with the dendrites floating in clear agate. Anyway... Just finished this. I haven't figured out the ends of the necklace, yet, or if I will keep it. It goes real well, though, I think. I used those scotchbrites wheels to do a satin finish. When I was putting on the bail, it jagged just a hair, but I guess I can live with it. It is handmade, afterall. And it hangs straight. The idea was to have opposing pears on the front and back and if you look through the stone there is another pear.

Looks great, What is the "necklace" you have it on?? Something I really love for necklaces, but totally doesn't sound very sexy- well, I guess to some ppl it might.... it's extruded pvc vinyl aka duck decoy cord. It's cheap and makes great cord necklaces. It comes in clear and matte black. I love it more than rubber.

What do you normally use for clasps??

What do you normally use for clasps?? I generally make my ends and clasps. With this one, I added a big lobsterclaw clasp and jumpring. Usually, though, I just use a simply made hook and jumpring.

Another great design. I really like the hidden bail for this particular piece. My only hang up might be the cut on the back for this one. I really liked it on your last piece but with the translucent cab here you can see that cut out through the cab. Probably not noticeable when being worn though?

Another winner Tela, you are doing awesome.
Chuck I think she put the cutout in the back to get a kind of pear on pear on pear look. I don't think it will be seen when next to the body but when hanging free and in the light should look pretty cool:)
Take care

Thanks guys Drummond Island Rocks, Tom is right, I was going for a play on the shapes. On the front and back are opposing pears, but if you look through the stone it's another mini pear like the stone. Just messing around. But, yeah, it isn't that noticeable when worn. For the next translucent stone, I probably won't cut the back.... maybe. Just finished taking some better pictures.
