Mel sent me a box last year (may have been a swap, I can't remember) that had all sorts of cool stuff in it, including a rock labeled "Rootbeer Flint" that I think was from his ranch there in Texas. I finally fed it to the saw and it looks really cool! I'm also still chasing a winning fortification in a bunch of Teepee Canyon Agate I've been working my way through. This is the best I've found so far, but I need to keep looking: I had intended on getting a tile saw and spending all day preforming, but we woke up to very cold and snowy weather. So we busted out the jewelry-making supplies and everyone made pendants and earrings together:

Wow John, great way to pass a snowy day with the family. Quite a set up you've got there with all the craft supplies too. Nice slabs. I've found you often have to cut a lot of Teepees to get you a real good one. That flint is what most the Amerinds around here used for knapping points but it does take a fine polish too.....Mel

I love that you and your family craft and create together. I love that flint, I had no idea that it looked like that, almost like wood grain, yummy!!!
