Last summer I met up with John and Brian ( Thunder69 and wyobrian) and we hounded a lot of open ground and had a great time. They took me out to one of my target locations - Agate Flats not far from Sweetwater Junction in Wyoming. I've fallen in love with that area, and was able to hunt it last fall as well, finding some fire opal in the process. WELL I know until a couple months ago I was quiet on here, but I've got the tumblers rolling again and I just pulled my first batch out in 2014, and I had a lot of little sweetwaters in there. I don't know what all it is about them that makes them so appealing. They come out of the ground pretty nicely shaped into teardrops, jelly beans, spheres, pleasantly wind-polished and really pretty. I wanted to try shining them up and I'm not unhappy at all. Here's the whole batch: Some pet wood: A mix, including some Lake Superior Agates and a bunch of Wyoming Jaspers and Chalcedony: Some "Inca Agate" chips I picked up in a 5# batch last fall at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show from The folks at thegemshop.com: AAAAnd the Sweetwater Agates. I played around with my flash a little and like this offset lighting a lot better. Usually I just use my phone but I brought out the big boy and the 50mm lens to help them show off a little:

Sweeet stuff you got there. What are you going to do with them? Drill and string them up?

I was thinking about using some wire cages for them. A lot of the smaller ones are really pretty but I wouldn't want to put a drill to them. The big chunky ones I'll just hang onto (my precious)

Ha, I am gonna start calling herchenx by the name of "John the Foote" Sounds very Louisianian.
