Aww shucks. Twern't nutthin. (hangs head and kicks a can) Glad you like it Sir, and hope you get many a compliment on it when out in public. If you would have had me make it a half a size bigger, it might have been in danger of not finding it's way to ya:-) Nah. I couldn't do that, but it sure came out nice and I hope I can find a nice piece like that in the roagh and make one for myself this summer

Now that's a double WOWWWZERS! One for the stone, and one for the silver work. I wish the ring was in MY jewelry box!

Thanks all for the kind words. Sometimes accidents make things more appealing. I had the silver work completely done on the ring and was setting the stone when a corner chipped off!!! There must have been an unnoticed hairline fracture and the slight pressure of rolling the bezel over the edge of the stone caused it to chip A few choice words were muttered and I had the embarrassing task of telling Roy what had happened to his stone. We agreed on a plan and I rounded the opposite corner to match the chipped one and left the other corners square. In the end I think the stone actually looks better with the forward corners rounded than it did being perfectly rectangular. Of course this necessitated making a complete new setting for the new shape of the stone The shank was made with three pieces of 14 ga square Sterling wire silver soldered together, so this is one hefty ring! As a final touch before mounting the stone (again;-) I soaked the ring in Liver of Sulfur, then polished it leaving a nice patina in the recesses of the twisted wire and beads. I was very pleased with how it turned out, and I think Roy kinda likes it too:-)
