Howdy folks. I've been a quasi-rockhound most of my life, collecting rocks and fossils while on outdoor trips, etc. but the bug really bit me recently while working in central Texas. Found some county roads out there where about 2-3% of the "gravel" actually was petrified wood. I picked up quite a few pounds of it (along with some flint/jasper) and sent home, bought a Lontone tumbler and started seeing what tumbling and polishing was all about. Still have not gotten any batches through to the end but do believe I'm hooked for life just on what the wet rocks look like. Seeing the work others have posted here really shows just how amazing rocks can be.

Howdy from Virginia- a fellow Southerner. If tumbling's your bag, you've come to the right place. Be sure to post pictures.
