Well I made it back and did great on a nice fossil hunt....I took out my two sons, one nephew and my future son in law. We all scored some nice fossils... Nodules ....(in a host shell) Ammonite.. Baculite.. Baculite with full "Mother of Pearl" on the outer shell.. Best baculite of the day.. Scaphite in host rock.. Scaphite and baculite, found laying on the ground next to each other.. Can't tell what this is yet...Might be a crystaled baculite or a busted ammonite with crystals... My son Travis,Garrett and future son in law Jens in background.. My son Garrett.. Of course the "Fossman..LOL Nephew Bruce.. My son Travis.. i29.photobucket.com/albums/c266/fossilman01/Petwood/Agates/Agates%20two/IMG_382

Your mystery one is a baculite.
I never find ammonites that big when I am there.

My biggest ammonites are 14 inches across,I have three so far....I've seen them over three feet wide too...Got to get away from where the crowd digs though,a lot of humping, but worth it. I have about 15 or 16 ammonites now...

Nice haul. I'd give my back teeth to find an ammonite that big. Hope the family tradition goes on for a long time to come.

those are great finds! We don't get many big ones here, mostly corals and small shells, crinoid pieces... I love the ammonites... sister brought me a couple from TX years ago, they are the stars of my fossil collection. Looks like you all had fun out there. Hoping for more pictures when you are rested a bit!
