Hi all!
I've been collecting "rocks" for a few years now and I dabble in making jewelry. I have a Lortone tumbler but haven't used it in some time. I have recently become reinterested in rock collecting since we have some nice spots to look for them around here.
I'm researching how to use my dremel to clean up some of my rocks and turn them into jewelry.
I raise alpacas and make all kinds of things from their fiber including spinning my own yarn and all types of wearables like hats, scarves, et.

Welcome to the forum lagniappe.. There's a few posts on using either a dremel or drill to hold diamond burrs or cut-off wheeels to shape/pre-shape/drill stones. Usually in the "Home made Equipment" area. I used a dremel to make a grooving tool for wire wrapping. Just remember to use water and wear a dust mask! Also used one with a 2 1/2" cutoff wheel to preshape stones prior to tumbling until I made a diamond stone grinder out of five 4 1/2" diamond cut-off wheels stacked. And I like your forum name..

I saw the post here about using the dremel when I was lurking so found some great info there. I was wondering about the grove for the wire. I might have to try that, would make it a lot easier Thanks for the welcome ya'll
