Nice! That is way cool! Good thing your saw doesn't have a gag reflex and spit that puppy out, lol. Could have been hell on your blade.

That is a tiny fragment of coral that shot into my thumb. That stuff will make you fester like real coral. Gloves would have prevented such. I think it harbors Ebola.

And would you quit with the Ebola shit? Maybe it's an STD.
Well, at least it looks like the split on the corner of your thumb has healed up - for now. Until the dryness of winter.

We like that, you did well with the shape nature gave you. Personally, a nice satin finish wood base.

Have you ever thought about polishing the cut surfaces? You're a pretty ingenious gay and I'm sure you can build a "gizmo" to do it. connrock

The one in the center is polished Tom. It must weigh 15 pounds. I bought a center feed polisher. It is a low speed 4.5 inch grinder that uses velcro backed diamond pads. Same thing used on granite counter tops. Will get you wet in a hurry.

the cut coral in this last photo looks flawless. the big ones on the bottom of the river must be preserved from freezing. Big things w/out a single fracture.

Jim, that is crazy cool! Seriously, it belongs in a museum or something. I always called it the foot Tela. Funny you mention that; the piece I sawed off was smaller and was used for a couple of Southern Living Magazine photo shoots. I had it on consignment and it got missing. Plenty of value in the coral for home decoration. The real white skinned ones were popular in beach cottages. Thanks for the kind words, means a lot coming from you. Your cabs are crazy.
