For those of you who didn't see it, my first creation was posted here: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/65466/introductionMy second project actually began before my first, but I got sidetracked by that chandelier, because it was so fun to make. This second project is an end table for our front room. I may make a second to have a pair, but I am not sure. So much to do, and so little time and money. Here is a video: My goal, beyond having a lot of fun, is to make a side business out of furniature/lighting with stonework and slabs. I want to make some pendant lights and lamp shades next. If anybody is interested in a special project, just let me know. I would be happy to give a discount to members of this forum due to all the information I have gleaned here. So, whaddayaall think?

It's a beautiful table! What kind of rocks are in the top?

I am not sure exactly what the rocks are. Something from central California.

Great work and a unique idea. One thing,,,,if I may,,,,,when selling something rock/mineral related it is VERY important to know what the rock/mineral is and where it came from.It doesn't matter if the rock or mineral comes from a well known location as long as a location IS given,,,,other then "Something from Central California"!
Even if you say that the slabs came from a certain "Region" of California and that they are "plume" agate,,, "This is a table I'm offering that has beautiful Plume Agate from the "San Joaquin" Region of California,,,,,,"
About the only people I know who don't give a hoot about where "it" came from are women when they get a diamond! LOL
I hope you don't mind me adding my 2 cents and I am N O T trying to be a smart guy here,,,,just trying to help a bit. conneock

But, but, but Tom, you are a smart guy:) I don't know much about selling items, wish I could quit work and do just that though:) You point is well stated. I think for me to sell some cheap $5 - $10 tumbled pendants with a glue on bail I would have to "make up some names" LOL With cabbed and silver worked pieces I would definately have the proper information for a buyer. Oh and just kidding about making up names I can say "I don't know"

No worries. I appreciate the advice. This particular table is not for sale. When making similar things for sale, I would definitely know the stone, and preferably take custom orders.
