Thank you everyone! I'm feeling excited by such a great response! I've only been making them for about a month but I'm hopeful they'll be popular! Tommy, thank you for your advice. It was difficult deciding on pricing. I definitely don't feel I'm making enough of a profit but I wanted to make them affordable enough to sell and enable me to continue making them. I was planning on creeping the prices up slowly as I gain customers who get as addicted as I am to the stones. Hehe

Hehe Tommy is right, don't price too low and remember it is always easier to lower prices than to raise them. If people love your stuff at 25 then may balk at coming back to 50. Here's a thread we did about pricing work I think you'll find that the general idea is not to price too low.

VERY nice work,,,I like them a LOT! How do you get the stones to stay wrapped in the macrame? I tried something slightly similar to this but used soft thin leather.I tried different types of glue and even epoxy but they didn't seem strong enough to me. connrock

Thank you, connrock! I use the thinnest cord possible which allows extremely tight knots/wraps. As long as the wrap is the perfect width, it's incredibly snug and that stone's not moving at all. I rarely use glue. The pieces are just stone and cord. :-)
Thank you for the link, rockjunquie! I found it extremely enlightening, especially in regard to the "About Page" on Etsy. I haven't filled mine out yet because I wasn't sure what I wanted to say. After reading the advice on that thread, I realize I need to push my background in fine art. I must sell these as pieces of original art, not just jewelry. Quite frankly, I myself hadn't looked at these as pieces of art! Shame on me!
I'm soooooo glad I found this board!!!!

Thanks,,,If I understand you correctly,,,you actually do the macrame around the stone and not make the macrame and then fit it to the stone? Amazing to me how well it holds! VERY nice work! connrock

Awesome work! Actually they look suited to masculine buyers too. Kind of a Native American crafts look to them. I can see both dudes and gals liking your wraps. And, as a bonus, you escape the high price of silver or gold filled wire. A suggestion. If you can find a way to do it, a leather wrapped oval would make a great manly looking centerpiece for a hatband for a cowboy hat. Stone mounted leather hat bands would be very cool and probably very popular......Mel

Connrock, I do the macramé and periodically place the stone in to be sure it'll be the right fit. If it's a crystal point, I end up checking for placement after each knot.
Thank you, Mel! Yes, these are definitely unisex! I've had 6 sales in 2 weeks which I guess isn't too bad but anyway, three women and three men! I LOVE the hatband idea!!! To be honest, I've got so many ideas swimming around my brain, it's getting quite maddening!

Thanks,,,I'm almost tempted to try this but I've never tried macrame so it would be another item on my already long list of things I can "almost" do! LOL connrock

Thank you Lnda and Donnie :-) Yes, Donnie! That's eudialyte! A gorgeous stone, wouldn't hurt my feelings if it never sells and I'm forced to wear it! LOL
