So, hello everyone! My name is Joshua, I visited the Cadys about two years ago. My wife Jessica and I spent five days out there about 9 miles in, and 3 miles in on a jeep trail, we made camp. Was amazing to say the least, we didn't find too much unfortunately. Now I understand that these amazing locations aren't given away, but a general area where the best can be found would be greatly appreciated. We spent those days wondering around in the ridiculous heat and only found a few pieces. Been rockhounding for five years now, and have never experienced anything like the Cadys in beauty and scope. From Afton Canyon to Ludlow, in love with the area. Have had great luck at Afton, during our past extensive camping trips. Would like to make the Cadys equally memorable. Plume, Flame, moss, and sagenite agate are my favorite stones. Living only two hours away from the best collecting sites around, and not knowing where to go or what to look for is frustrating to say the least. Any help, hints, advice, or anyone wanting to go along for the next trip would be exceedingly welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to RTH, therockviking779! Hopefully, some of our members that have been to the Cadys can give you some tips on where to look.

The Rockhound crew from Fresno is hosting a week long tour of collecting sites in that area in mid November. Gonna be fun!!!! Check rockhoundfieldtripfanatics.

Welcome aboard rockviking. Afraid I can't be of much help. It's been about 20 years since I hounded the Cady's. I used to live in Riverside, and got out that way every chance I got. Much has changed in those 20 years. Areas are now under asphalt and houses. Other areas have been put off limits as sensitive desert areas. There are several folks on here who still hound out that way. I'm sure you'll be hearing from them in the next couple of days.

Thx luvtogrow! Am already a member and attending. But i am constantly trying to find information. The wife and I are headed to Afton canyon for 5 days in early October. Then ending our vacation at GEM O RAMA oh yeah!!! This will be our third big trip to Afton, and know the place fairly well . Although Sabers info regarding the gravel bed's will be alot of fun, on those days after the hiking kicks our butts.
