Don made a beautiful copper and brass bracelet and I wrote that I was going to try it somewhere down the road. Well,,,,,I got down the road alright but when I tried to weave the copper wires,,,,let's just say things didn't work out well! LOL I tried 3 times and ended up with a horrible mess and a bunch of scrap copper wire! I had already cut a piece of copper "blank" 2" wide to make the bracelet so rather then put it to the side I made a hammered cuff bracelet. Nothin fancy but it was fun,,, I used Easy silver solder and if nothing else was happy that I didn't have much "leaching" at all. The copper blank was 2" wide x 6" long.I used my Smith's Little Torch with oxy/acet and #5 tip to anneal it and silver solder it and had plenty of heat to do both. After soldering I pickled it,washed it off with soap and water and threw in my vibe with stainless steel shot for about 3 hours. I washed it thoroughly with warm water, dish soap and a little ammonia.Patted it dry with paper towels and put it in liver of sulfur for about 5 minutes. I rubbed it with fine steel wool until I got the patina I liked and then buffed it up using my Foredom flex shaft,a 1" muslin buff and Zam. I may try doing another one that's a little narrower,,,,,about 1" to 1-1/4" wide and see if I can add some embellishments this time,,,but NO weaving! LOL connrock

Maybe not a weave but a sharp looking piece for sure Jim!

I like it, I like it! I would like to try something like that later on down the road but I don't think my "torch" is going to be able to handle it! The annealing part, that is.
