Jim, she was talking about broseph82, he did a reply early this morning and decided to pull it. It was a good reply too, and warranted.

Hey guys, thanks for all the positive thoughts my way. I love rocks! I've been intrigued with them for a while now. I got my ears pierced a couple years ago due to me finding out that rocks could be worn as jewelry (instead of silver, gold, metals in general (cheap and harmful or expensive) in my ear lobes. The more I researched the more I saw phenomenal pieces made in bigger sizes. The smaller sizes were nice, but the bigger pieces showed off more lines, texture, and color play. I had planned on sizing up my ear holes so I could wear some rocks and other people know what was in them (or at least be intrigued enough to ask). As I went up in size I finally was able to buy some stone plugs small enough to be worn without it being an inlay in some metal. I quickly found out that the cheap ones made oversees had flaws and would read complaint after complaint about them. I decided to do something about it and make quality U.S.A.-made stone jewelry correcting the problems so many people complained about(the Chinese don't measure the same way so their stuff is always bigger than what they're supposed to be here). I also noticed there was little to no shine to these plugs and a lot would have 220 marks all over.
Fast forward to now: I own my own business. I work the hours I want and like. I set my own prices and recently have had to increase my prices due to growing demand. I take most weekends off to spend time with my family. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree. I have a wonderful supportive wife and 3 awesome kids. I own my own house, cars, and am extremely extroverted (meaning I can talk and chat it up with ANYONE in any situation). People I've met whom also have stretched ears and also other body parts (nose, belly buttons, eye brows, septum, etc etc) also work full time, have families of their own, seem to be really personable, and have a passion for something(usually body modification of some kind).
Body modifications like tattoos, piercings, implants, etc are becoming more mainstream. Step inside businesses like Whole Foods, EarthFare, Spencers, etc and you will see just about every single person with something other than a blank canvas they were born with. Most of them are super nice as well. As mentioned above societies have been inking and modding their bodies for thousands of years.
If you've had a bad experience with someone who has had stretched ears, on their behalf I apologize. One person doesn't represent an entire culture or sub-culture of people.
Most of us come to this site to appreciate the rock hobby. Most "normal" people think we're crazy. I don't know of a single person within 20 miles of myself who appreciates rocks and making stuff with them as much as I do. That's why I am here to talk with others' from other parts of the world who will actually talk rocks and sound excited when I talk about them too.

I would like to apologize to broseph82 for my comments last night.
Last night I made some very idiotic and close-minded comments that were. Well. Ugly.
We all have out faults, failures, and setbacks. While no excuse is sufficient to explain my behavior last night, via pm, I do hope broseph82 understands and accepts my apology.
And lastly, I would like to say his work is beautiful. The green imp of jealousy was rife last night also when I looked at what he did.

Wow, being pretty judgemental, aren't you? Comments like that show lack of character, IMHO. You need to lose the attitude.
Words of wisdom - "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all." You are young, so hoping you'll grow out of it.
(Jimi, I saw what you had said this morning, I would have left it!)
Jean
You lost me on this one Jean. I did not remove anything so I am stumped. Not unusual for me. Jim
Jim, now you went and got me all confused, did not know what you were talking about, until Bill tried to set you straight, lol. I feel the same as you do.
wampidytoo , you will always be "JIM." Not James, and definitely not JIMI. Did ya have your glasses on when you read that?
Jim, she was talking about broseph82, he did a reply early this morning and decided to pull it. It was a good reply too, and warranted. Thanks, Bill. Glad someone besides me saw it.

I will be looking for the i from now on rockpickerforever but I am so good at confusing myself and others I really should continue with it. We all have to be good at something. @jennielee, what rockjunquie said. Plus, Not running away says a lot for you to. I am sure I have not made a mistake "in the last ten seconds" anyway but my past is crowded with them. You did right and should be considered a part of the family now. Jim

Prob very unhealthy to wear Unsealed and for any length of time, I agree. The Fordite plugs are going to be worn for one day at the APP convention in Las Vegas. The guy knows he can't wear them full-time, he just wants something cool for the convention. I am also sealing the saddles with dental sealant to help protect the skin. I am making 5 sets of body jewelry, one set for each day, for five body mod'ers. I am also making conches, philtrum, and labrets. I working on my carving now. I need to make septum pieces as well.

Last pairs I did were some Montana agates, gold sheen obsidian, jaspalite, and some labradorite.
